Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Peace-In begins: Mandate for Peace Tour

Tomorrow, Sunday, the CodePINK Truck and I are heading out from Oakland, California to Washington D.C., by way of the South, on the Mandate for Peace Tour and it's not too late to seriously consider coming to D.C.!

We'll be there for the whole month, Jan 20 - Feb 20 and you can come for a month, 2 weeks, a weekend! Just don't miss this awesome opportunity we have to make herstory & end war!

I'll be doing “Peace-In”s with local CodePINK chapters and Peace Activists across the country at Congresspeoples' offices. I’m bringing the Walk In Their Shoes (WITS – shoes tagged with names of dead Iraqi civilians and U.S. soldiers) and the Real Face of War (large photos of casualties) displays.

We set the displays up outside of the Congressperson’s office. Then, the local concerned citizens go inside to extract a public commitment from their congressperson to vote NO more funds for war.

The Peace-In goal and focus is to get every Congressperson to make this public commitment that she/he will vote to defund the war this Jan/Feb (whenever the vote comes up).

We intend to continue the Peace-In in Washington D.C. from January 20th until February 20th or until Congress votes NO, and sincerely hope concerned citizens who stay behind will continue the Peace-In daily at their Congressperson’s office!

I'll try to post faithfully!

If you know anyone along my path - somewhere between I40 and I20 (my intended route will be posted on my blog) - PLEASE let them know about the Tour and invite them to participate!

If you want to help me and the truck get across the country, and help other CodePINK activists come to D.C. as well, it is not too late to donate! You can send a check to CodePINK, 1248 Solano Ave., Albany, CA 94706 or you can donate securely at www.bayareacodepink.org/donate.htm

Together we are making herstory and we WILL end war in the next several weeks. Now is the time!
