Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Fresno National Guard Day 1 Last Stop

We are due in at the main gate of Fresno National Guard by 4:00. We arrive a minute or two late, passing the main gate as there is no place to park or even stand.

We keep driving and suddenly we see a parking lot full of press! They follow us to the corner where the fabulous Fresno Peace community, including CodePINK and WILPF, stand on the corner boisterously welcoming us, holding banners, posters, signs.

We join the great, enthusiastic folks on the corner - including a bay area CodePINKer Joyce - bringing our banners and handouts! We are so inspired and re-energized by the Fresno peace community, we joyfully great them, hand out our song sheets, do interviews with the press.

We're on a highly-trafficked corner and passers-by keep up an almost constant honking! One woman is highly concerned we don't sing of rape and killing, the real face of war.

Darkness falls quickly and the air chills significantly. We gather with several Fresno activists and share a meal, thanks to Food Not Bombs and Omid! Macgregor has taken the train to meet us; Sandy has injured her shoulder and is unable to join us; Lyn has changed her mind about coming with us but brings a donation of cash and potatoes!

We head out around 7:00 for a three+ hour drive to the motel at Edwards, close to the air force base there where we have scheduled a protest for 7:30am!
