Dismantle the Military and Prison Industrial Complex
If you look back over these years of my not-so-faithful journaling, I can't count the number of times I would report hearing of some outrage, some atrocity occurring in our country, in our name, to our people, to human life around the world, to the mother earth and I would rush to the window, sweep back the curtains, and peer onto the streets just KNOWING people would be spilling into the streets to halt this atrocity.
But no, after all we are U.S. Americans: the people so focused on stacking up our "things", so deeply believing we have what we deserve and worked so hard for, so committed to making the maintaining of our 'life style' the one and only priority that we are blind and numb to the roaring pain we are contributing to and ensuring the continuation of.
The NDAA, as in National Defense Authorization Act, should have every thinking, feeling, still human person out onto the streets. The fact that only SEVEN of our so esteemed 100 Senators bothered to vote against this unspeakably horrific and blatant plunge into fascism should have us roaring over cell phones, twittering like a zillion hummingbird wings, advancing to D.C., to our Federal Buildings, to Occupies - which should be called "SHUT DOWN, TAKE OVER" - to SHUT DOWN the Military and Prison Industrial Complex.
What will it take?
