Why are womyn lesbian?
A very beautiful, smart straight woman recently told me, after I came out to her, that she's surprised she's not a lesbian, given the horrific way men treat her.
This straight woman most likely thinks of herself as an ally to lesbians. I had to set her even straighter!
Womyn are not lesbians because men have done them wrong.
Womyn are not lesbains because of anything men do or have done.
Womyn are lesbians because we deeply, intensely, openly, honestly love womyn and hold ourselves in high esteem, treasure our beings, value our insights and perspectives.
This is a paradigm/life style that is difficult for straight womyn to grasp after spending the past few thousands of years experiencing the love defined by sexism and misogyny.
