Sis Cis
Why is ‘cis’ derogatory?
First of all, it's a term that was crafted by men/males/biological boys, for defining womyn and putting us in our place. How liberating is that?
Secondly, it is built on an acceptance of the racist, sexist, misogynist society crafted sex (now called gender) boxes for womyn and men - boxes radical feminist like me have spent a lifetime not just crushing and stepping out of, but of liberating ALL people from ALL sex boxes.
Third, it's a further way of dividing womyn and ranking womyn: "cis" indicates "privilege" of fitting into the sex box that society defines as 'woman', i.e. not having to take toxic hormones or have surgery to be seen as 'woman' as defined by those sex boxes, or not agreeing to be formed and defined by society's sex box for females.
So under transdomination, 'cis' womyn are seen and labeled 'privileged' thereby more advantaged than transpeople, especially male-to-trans people, thereby making 'cis' people with the right bodies 'unfairly advantaged' as compared to the other more desirable 'gender' distinctions coined by the same white-male-trans-academic-led movement.
But most atrociously and most aligned with patriarchy and white male domination, is the claiming and bastardizing the meaning of a special term that here-to-for united all womyn "SIS" into now "CIS" which sounds the same but is derogatory and meant to put womyn into an even more lesser place than we already are in society at large and in the ‘queer’ community.
