The TIME IS NOW!
THOUSANDS of people in both Oakland and later in San Francisco took to the streets both in solidarity with the workers of Wisconsin and all around the U.S., and to demand rights and resources for workers here.
In Oakland and San Francisco, the docks were completely SHUT DOWN for 24 hours! In Oakland, the Wells Farto bank downtown was SHUT DOWN for at least 4 hours.
The teachers are calling for STRIKE and OCCUPATION of the Capitol in Sacramento from May 9th to the 13th. 600 teachers in Oakland are facing layoffs if legislators don't stop our tax dollars from going to war and giving excessive tax breaks to the wealthy.
What incredible opportunities we have right now to impact our society and change our direction. The energy was amazing yesterday!
