It's superiority and inferiority of flying folks!
Airplanes are a simple example of such: there’s the first class, middle class, and lower class sections n the plane, to reinforce those feelings of superiority or inferiority, depending on where you sit.
First class people get to board first; sit in the beginning of the plane so they get off first also; have the largest seats on the plane; water is waiting for them at their seat and then they are served free drinks while waiting for the plane to take off; get fed a meal; have special treats; are addressed by their names by the stewardesses.
The middle class sits behind the most valued customers so they get to board next; they get free alcoholic drinks and head phones if they want; and they get the special snacks along with the regular snacks.
The lower class boards last and so gets off last also. They have to pay for any alcoholic drinks or head phones, and get no special services.
