Okay so we’re getting slammed in the mainstream media – CodePINK, Cindy Sheehan, all of us. And I say, well right on! Let’s think about this folks – we’re used to getting ignored at worst, a few lines on occasion (usually of arrest or illegal surveillance). Now every day it seems, some radio, tv talk host, newspaper has something maligning to spew forth. Or if they’re not attacking our work & our selves, then they’re trying to tell us sic. weak little women how & what we should be doing… hmmph – we know where all that comes from, eh?
I take it as a sign: we’re getting better & better at doing our job – AND dick & george and all those callous, greed-driven, fundamentalist white males who are driving our country to war, our world to oblivion – all those men are getting more and more desperate. See Dick Run.
Look at it as a lesson in child-rearing. How often do you tell your teenager what you want her to do and she might start off pretending she didn’t hear you. Then she might start whining or protesting until she escalates, choosing to scream and rant, maybe stomp her feet, throw her body against the wall, turn herself inside out, raging and wailing. You have to stand calm, rooted yet flexible, protecting your self and your knowledge that your child must do what you require. You must not allow yourself to be diverted or manipulated off-course. You tell your child, “no matter what you do or say – call me names, turn yourself inside out, shred your favorite teddy bear to pieces – when you’re finished, you STILL need to be home by 10:00p.m.”
So we need to know that the neo-cons, including their spokespersons (the mainstream media, right-wing hosts, etc.) will try everything to divert us and the nation’s attention from our purpose, the ending of this war & occupation. The more they throw at us, the harder they try to silence & discredit us, the more we know we are doing our job & need to stand firm, stand tall, stand committed.
