Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

2500 U.S. dead & I'm off to Asheville North Carolina

It is still light as I leave D.C. even tho it is close to 8:00p.m. – the sky is beautiful, etched clouds of all shades of gray & white, slight pink from the fading sun – no red skies yet, maybe rain tomorrow???

6 fuck you’s – all from under 40 white men – accompany me as we all leave D.C. into Virginia. Rush hour traffic even tho it’s hours after 5:00. One white woman passenger appears to be hanging out the window, holding her nose – did I really see that?

I forge doggedly forward, radiating circles of peace, challenging these privileged majority white drivers heading home to their suburban ghettos that war is NOT the answer; that their view is NOT the right, the only, even the majority view.

After my 6th fuck you, I’m getting kinda down – but then a station wagon full of young, beautiful brown women pass by, their bodies hanging as far & long out the windows as they dare, whooping loudly, determined fists circling the humid air, peace & love signs energetically embracing me. Back to reality! Thanks wimmin!!!!

I make it to the first rest stop that says 2 hour limit – yeah, right. I take note of all the trucks & cars that are there when I pull up in case some fool is going to try to enforce the limit for me only.
