Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Happy Party

I’m minding my business, locking up my bike at the Berkeley Bowl, getting ready to enter the store when a womon hands me an invitation to a “Happiness Party”, as she asks me if I want to be happy?

Wow.

My first impulse, which I follow, is to hand the flyer back to her and tell her “I don’t believe in working on my own happiness while there are womyn and children in danger in our country and world.”

She gives me the most pitying look I’ve seen in a while as I smile happily at her. For fighting for the elimination of racial and sexual violence makes me soooooooo very happy! Only one thing will make me happier: when all racial and sexual violence has been wiped off the face of our earth.
