6 weeks in a sling??? YIKES!
I am wanting/planning on participating in the 90 mile walk from the Dane County jail in Madison to Volk Air Guard Base next week. I was only coming home for a minute to take care of business and touch base with my home.
It is very annoying to have to wear this sling, to which I am do not want to be faithful. I can't imagine how keeping my arm motionless will help.
But I am terrified about re-injuring my shoulder. The doctor has told me I need to re-train the muscles as well as make sure the shoulder is seated properly in the joint - unless I want it to come out again, which I DEFINITELY do NOT!
I call the doctor that is standing in for my chiropractor and realize she's not accessible by public transportation. I normally walk or ride my bike but I'm too raw from the dislocation to do anything like that so I spend the day in bed, resting and reading.
Now I'm torn - I'm supposed to be returning to Madison on Monday a.m. but my chiropractor is not returning until then and I'm not sure I'll be able to see her, the day she returns.
I have left my truck at the airport as it was too hard for me to find a place to park her for almost a week, and then have to find a way to the airport and back again to pick her up. This way, for $6 a day, I've parked her where she is very visible and not in danger of being towed - I hope!
