Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

The Cuban-amerikkkans for tRump...

I have totally forgotten to take my truck to my mechanic in Atlanta to get the leaky drain plug on my rear axle replaced so I decide, after seeing black seepage on the axle, I better stop at a truck repair place even though I'm still in Florida: I do NOT want to wreck my axle and if I don't do it today, tomorrow is Sunday and this is the south...

I am on high-alert, pulling into a huge new car and truck dealership with repair shop mid-Florida, as I always am when I have to depend on what could be bigoted white men to repair my truck.

I've called ahead so when I pull in, two men – one who appears very young and white, and one who is older and light brown – burst through the service doors and approach my truck, smiling broadly and confirming I'm the one who called about the drain plug.

The brown man, after reading my messages, identifies himself as having grandparents who came from Cuba when they were very young and tells me proudly he went to Cuba in 2014 for the first time. His face glows and his dark chocolate eyes shine as he recounts his surprise and pleasure at finding out how kind, peaceful, and generous Cubans are.

He then shifts into mindlessly spouting of u.s.ofa. propaganda and states it's the government that is despicable: for example, he proceeds with complete authority as he mimes that parting, if you decide to part your hair on the right instead of the left, they will punish you and take away your business.

I can't help but laugh and ask him who in Cuba told him that? He blushes slightly and admits no one said that particular thing but capitalism needs to come to the island. As he talks about the business model we need to export to Cuba, I ask him a question that stops him mid sentence.

Does he not see the connection between a socialist or communist government and society that Cuba is striving for and who the people are there? The loving kindness, immense generosity, the peacefulness of Cubans (that I also experienced first hand) verses the connection between capitalism and the violence, brutality, fear, greed that characterizes our government and society?

He nods thoughtfully and silent for a moment before he admits he sees the connections but states that he knows the Cubans whose land and resources were taken from them by Castro will not choose the benefits of communism making people more human over the benefits of material wealth.

Those are the Cuban-amerikkkans who voted for tRump. My turn to agree.
