Fierce Mothers Rage Against War
Amy made her flower peace symbol mandala; Yolanda came early to hold the space; Becky set up a memorial alter on a pink camouflage sheet; Eleanor made perfect gingerbread bodies tinged with blood that became war-ravaged during the day; B sang beautifully and brought Resist signs; Holly led us in a brief ritual with flowers and an impassioned poem she wrote for the 30 U.S. mothers and their 50 children left motherless by the Iraq occupation.
A womon from Scotland, a reporter from Belgium, and several other CodePINKers joined us through-out the day as we sang, burned incense and held these murdered women's memory in our hearts.
Tomorrow is Daughters of War Speak Out at the MRS. We will set up the alter again and we have our permit from noon-4. See you there! Peace, Zanne
