It takes two guys about 2 hours to replace my old batteries and re-wire everything back up again.
They also wash off the tons of battery acid that has spilled over the frame of the holders, which Gloria will be very happy to read!
We don’t get started until after 3pm so the sun is almost gone by the time it is finished. Tomorrow, I will have to park in a VERY sunny spot and let the batteries charge up – no electricity tonite or tomorrow or tomorrow nite!
Which means yet 2 more nites and another day in Acapulco. It looks like the earliest I will be able to leave here is Wednesday morning.
I hand Guillermo my (daughter’s) credit card and to my chagrin, it doesn’t go thru. I try booting up my computer to call Tess and I find out my mobile internet that I just bought a week ago is not working AGAIN!
I PROMISE Guillermo the card is good and I give him a check along with my passport to hold until I can get contact my daughter, so he doesn’t think I’m going to abscond with his hard work and equipment.
Then I head over the 2 blocks to the IUSACELL place to find out what’s wrong this time. Lucky I'm doing business so close!
Samuel tells me that I have used my month’s worth of free access already. I’m over it. I tell him that if that is true, that I have used my entire gigabyte of downloads in a week, then this is not the plan for me and I will return the device.
The big boss, Zoe, comes over to reassure me that she will look into it and I should return around 1 or 2 tomorrow and talk with her. I can do that. I have to be here anyway charging up my batteries.
I have just enough time to rush to the beach to catch the end of the sunset and then head to Starbucks to scam their electricity and internet again.
Tomorrow I will take care of business: 1) get the credit card working; 2) charge the batteries; 3) turn in my mobile device or have them fix it once and for all; and 4) get a new tire.
Then I’ll be ready to roll!
