Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Good news - Corporate millions DEFEATED in Richmond & Berkeley!!!!

TEAM RICHMOND triumphs!!!! I head outside with this knowledge, avoiding all the other election results....

I'm on about a 5 mile hike today! Thru town, dodging barking dogs - fortunately they didn't attack me!

But an old white male who let me know immediately he was wealthy and highly educated, did approach me with 2 of his barking dogs. I should have lied to him when he asked me where I was from as he thinks Berkeley – he & his beloved bequeathing ancestors’ alma mater – is the epitome of ridicule and superfluous-ness of the nation.

He was so arrogant, condescending  & really hateful about all things Berkeley - me included altho I could barely get a word in edgewise...NOT! I told him he sounded like an example of the people he is putting down.

But he gave me the good news about the soda tax and the people of Berkeley voting against big corporate money! When I celebrated and expressed my gratitude for the news, he accused me of being a secure confident woman.

Heaven forbid I, a 64 year old lesbian crone should be secure & confident in life...

He mumbled something like he bet I wouldn't even ask him how women can liberate themselves. Wisely when I said "I beg your pardon" he instead beckoned me to cross the road,  climb the incline and peer over the edge to Plum Creek running below.

It probably never crossed his mind to be fearful that I might toss him over the edge, as I did have visions of smacking him upside his head. But I was the one who made sure I stayed over an arm's length from him, I made sure I watched him carefully and prepared to protect myself.

He wanted to show me the creek as an example of confidence and security if only I lived in the mountains.

So I get to meet the neighbors of Sierra City! They do not detract from the amazing glory of the Sierras. The campground is deserted - beautiful and empty of people! The sign says it is closed for the season yet the gates and bathrooms remain open. It is actually quite big for not having electricity! It looks like people who like to fish might be the ones who camp here!
