CAll in PINK nov 6-9th to be continued
For the past three days, we have taken the WITS action to several small and larger communities along highway 50, through South Lake Tahoe, up 89, and back down I 80 to Granite Bay. We have returned to Rocklin and then over to Placerville.
Even though these communities are purportedly heavily Republican, i.e. pro-war, we have been received mostly with genuine gratitude and that shattered bewilderment as folks not normally used to facing 655,000 deaths try to grapple with that horrific concept.
From young girls, to police officers, to raving white angry men, we have been able to present the real face of war and hopefully convince many folks we must vote for peace on Tuesday.
We have had mostly incredibly moving experiences - although biodiesel does NOT do good in chilly weather and it dropped to 20 degrees in the early Wednesday morning hours.
Everyone Call in PINK Monday the 6th thru Thursday the 9th, especially those of us who realize the true state of our union. We have such a huge opportunity to at least get the vote out in our neck of the woods. The WITS action team plans to be on the road, in those crucial counties, on both the 6th & 7th. We welcome you to join us - your participation is urgently needed in fact.
As are your shoes! We need more shoes - we have about 200 pairs right now - out of 655,000 & counting - not much! You can leave them on the porch at the CodePINK Office in Albany, or bring them to the CodePINK Office in Global Exchange at San Francisco.
Today we plan to take WITS to Pleasanton & Laura Bush's appearance again. Then we are off to the Sierras and Auburn & Charlie Brown's Town Hall Meeting by way of Sacramento and maybe other stops along the way.
