Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

The heat....

After driving most of the night and resting briefly in the Grapevine, L.A. this morning was as challenging as I anticipated! My last 20 minute leg of the trip took almost 2 hours, making me late for the pick-up I was to do this morning.

My truck got lots of positive reactions all down I5 and onto the 405, with two you's: one from a white male biker and other from a white male pickup truck driver.

I had intended to rest during the heat of the day at the Palm Springs rest stop on the I10 but both rest stops were closed....grrrrr.

I ended up taking an exit just before the mountains and parking on a large shoulder off the exit. Even though it was hot as hell, a good breeze was going. I left the door open, along with all the windows and was able to catch a few very comfortable hours of sleep before the sun finally went down.

Heading over those mountains and through Arizona, it felt like it did not cool off at all. The desert was so hot it hurt to breathe. I decided not to risk stopping in Tucson but headed straight through and onto my favorite rest stop half-way between Tucson and the New Mexico border.
