Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

salinas READ-IN - last 12 hours - to be continued

wow - we are all soooooo inspired and running on that natural high that comes from sharing such intense, intimate personal experiences with strangers that are none-the-less recognized on every level as kindred souls. as folks speak of their vital memories growing up in libraries, i am also reminded of my early vists to the libraries.

so many folks have come to support us, those who have stayed the whole nite & into the next day - a womon from the neighborhood who couldn't spend the nite, has made tons of fabulous breakfast burritos that her other neighbor is carrying around in big shopping bags and handing out to us!

another fellow has set up a stove in the back among the 40 or so tents and has done nothing but cook the whole time we've been here - last nite he made a fabulous meal and passed it out to the read-in'ers; this morning he made a full breakfast too for us.

in the late hours of the very chilly nite, when it was REALLY cold, a pick-up truck pulling a giant bar-be-que pulled in, lit up the wood in the pit, and made a huge fire for us to warm up at! another older couple brought a huge pot of hot, mexican drink & passed out cups among us!
