Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

meeting the historian - to be continued

I had a very interesting conversation this morning with a man who considers himself a historian.

(Almost) ex-military, orv, and abrests! to be continued

I have always experienced the most unfriendly element in Salt Lake City, that these folks here would attribute to New Yorkers - only my experience with New Yorkers is they ROCK!

I always stop at the Flying J just before SLC, as I've made it through the stark terrain of western Nevada and the amazing and equally desolate Great Salt Flats & Lake.

It is always at this stop that the most unfriendly people seem to congregate - maybe there's a convention there when I happen through.

As I filled my tank (grrrrr I'm forced to run diesel because of the temperature), a pickup truck hauling a long trailer carrying a string of those ugly orv = off road vehicles looking like mini tanks, and two very young, very white, very clean shaven i.e. no hair, men jumped out, demanding "what is 'abrest'"?
