Brief Report Back NextDoor Atlanta 11/10 "These Next Dayz: What Will White Womyn Do To End Racism?"

We shared stories of our various celebrations of the good news re:Harris & Biden. The scary but mostly subdued white males and their supporters showing up downtown Atlanta doing their tRumpisms by the CNN building before the Harris/Biden happy and peaceful celebrations began. Many tRumpers were also brandishing rifles but were soon greatly outnumbered.  

White male vigilante violence, including that of tRump, was also on the screen today. We talked about not allowing the fears and script promoted by the press, social media, etc. to deter our determination to continue along our anti-racism journey. Keeping an eye of the pentagon and state department, and tRump’s antics seemingly aimed at the pentagon firing people, etc.

At the same time we need to stay aware and informed as much as we can without allowing anxiety to overwhelm us; keeping an eye on the last minute actions of tRump – in order to know what else needs to be fixed beginning January 20^th; plans to hold Biden and Harris’s feet to the fire.

We couldn’t acknowledge and praise Stacey Abrams and Fair Fight enough, recognizing the vital contribution of Black womyn in Georgia and around the country, and Native people in Arizona and New Mexico. And the Supermajority womyn who organized calls to over 3 million female voters across the country.

And we continue to strategize about challenging and impacting both white womyn and sadly young white millennials – the largest majority of whom voted for a fascist – beginning soon and continuing into the future. We recognize we’ve failed to reach white womyn voters and need to strategize to change that.

Where best to put our energy continues to be part of our on-going dialogue. There are so many levels of concern, activism, actions we can engage with and impact. How important it is to not allow ourselves to get overwhelmed.
