Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

vote for peace; fire pombo - to be continued

we make a caravan - marie finds her calling on the megaphone as we drive slowly thru shopping center parking lots, neighborhoods, city streets - urging folks to get out & vote, fire pombo, vote for peace. marie says it in english & spanish. we are so very well received.

walmart parking lot - no one chases us off! macdonalds parking lot - we call 866-our vote - a woman has spent an hour trying to find her new voting place & then has to spend 2 hours in line waiting to vote.

aimee's election nite party

cp election nite party

WITS & Jackson - to be continued

last stop before stockton - janice & mercedes benz - woman from shopping center thinking we came in a mercedes benz!

press doesn't make it even tho they say they're coming....

another wonderful intersection, not as positive as nevada city but shockingly positive to be in the middle of republican territory. one womon turns around & pulls into parking lot to talk with us.

judy has driven up from the bay area to join up with us.

WITS for the election - to be continued

mountain top ritual - beautiful sierras

small town bannering - in parking lots of shopping centers, not long enough to be challenged by anyone but long enough to be seen by most of the 3000 inhabitants of these little towns.

close to 100% positive reception - feels excellent, natural high!

and the poooolice are baaaaccckkkkk - to be continued

again, citing a unique slt city ordinance, we are threatened w/citation if we do not pack up & leave.

police are aggressive, hostile. sargent demands my drivers license. i tell him i'm not producing my license and spin away. he laughs and sarcastically talks about how funny i am.

we want to be able to get out the vote today, not have to spend the day dealing with the ignorant slt po-lice. we demand to see this unique ordinance. first they say they don't have to show it, blustering; then they say we'll get a copy with the citation.

rae is firm about NOT wanting to be cited. we begin to very slowly pack up, still challenging them to show us the ordinance.

when they finally produce it, i laugh & hold it up for them as i read: if the protest will obstruct the sidewalk or impede traffic, a permit is required.

the sidewalks are 15-20 feet wide where we are at. the po-lice say it is their interpretation we are obstructing the sidewalk. i tell them their interpretation is wrong.

we have to go on to the next town - we pledge to return to file a complaint against these police.

freedom of speech - sargent trying to be the good guy, he's wrong.
