Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

On the road again....

I drove out of the Bay hours later today then I intended but I did drive out.

In rain & wind so ferocious I thought we were in a hurricane or maybe tornado warnings.

Drove out I did, thinking I was 100% ready to go until I switched to veggie oil & couldn't make it up the hill on 13.

Then it dawns on me....grrrrrrr I hadn't changed the fuckin veggie oil filters - nor the air filter. So I googled O'Reilly's while going 2literally mph on the freeway.

Fortunately, I was 1.5 miles from an O'Reilly's so off I went. Of course they didn't have my fuel filter nor air filter in stock but the next one almost 4 miles away did.

But when I got there, first he said the fuel filter was $25 until I informed him it was 17. Then all the sudden it was $17. Why do auto boys think I’m stupid? I already told him I called ahead. Grrrr

Then he told me they didn't have the air filter. Well bah humbug. I have to find another place to get it as running on diesel the engine was pulling hard also.

As I try to find an air filter today (everywhere I'm calling says they have to order 1 to 3 days - nope), I debate whether I should return home in order to change both the veggie filters and wait for the air filter. But I find a place in Oakland to get the air filter - again luckily less than 5 miles away. I will just find a place to change the veggie oil filters, as usual, along my beaten path.

I get back on the freeway that is now a huge parking lot - between rush hour, road work, and this huge weird (for us) storm, I probably drive 8 miles in 3 hours. I have to get over the Altamont Pass before I have an opportunity to pull over and change my pre-filter. It's a horrible gunky mess but lucky for me, I've a clean replacement.
