Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

A28 Impeachment day: Imprison Bush more like it!

We had our first fun and inspiring CodePINK event here in Atlanta today! We joined the A28 folks with our hot pink banners: “Bush Purge” – the “Peace Surge” half was missing! And “Women say Enough!”

We stood in the Park along side Moreland Ave for over an hour to an array of horn honks, shouts of yeahs, peace signs & fists, and several passersby stopped for a few moments to join us in the lovely morning sun to stand for peace and for impeaching Bush.

We could count the number of negative responses on one hand with two fingers missing! And of course, they were white boys driving pickup trucks.

I was fortunate enough to be interviewed by Fox News, the only TV station to show up in the park! I hope my message will be broadcasted! Among the many things he asked me, my favorite was what did I think about people who say that Bush is our commander in chief and we should leave these decisions to him and our other military commanders.

I got to say, well, I’m sure there were many who said the same thing about Hitler and his military commanders, but we happen to live in a democracy and the people are not only allowed to speak here, but it is our right and responsibility to make our voices heard! It is the leaders, including the “commander in chief”, who should be listening to the people and following the people.

I also got to say I think Bush – and all his cohorts – should be imprisoned for war crimes; and members of Congress we just handed our Mandate for Peace to during the last election, should be impeached for not enforcing the will of the people.

After the demonstration in the park, we headed to the Inman Park Festival where we marched in the parade! It was really awesome – we were greeted with such enthusiasm and warmth. I thought I was back in NYC or SF, so many people recognized CodePINK and cheered us on!

We have to give a shout-out to the organizers of the Festival – I emailed them the day before & asked if we could have a space: they called immediately back and said YES, we’d LOVE for CodePINK to be represented!!!

So there’s hope in Georgia, there’s hope for all of us!
