Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Yikes!

Larry has my truck on his trailer - but look at that pickup truck? Can it REALLY haul my 3.5 ton truck one thousand one hundred thirty-two miles?

I rack my brain thinking about the terrain from Pharr up to Houston and over I10 to Georgia. I can't remember any big incline but still, I'm nervous.

Trust is a funny thing. I totally trust this man and his sweet family but I don't know about his truck and trailer.

Oh well, we'll see!

Choices choices choices

I get on a three-way call with Cynthia and her driver. He wants to charge too much and I tell him so. He begins to lecture me, telling me what a great deal he's giving me, a favor for Cynthia, and I won't find it cheaper. When I tell him I'll let him know he gets belligerent, saying I owe him as he came to the lot and looked at my truck - that no one else would do that. That he's waited to hear from me and as I made him wait, I should go with him.

As if I'm going to give my money to someone who is man-handling me.

I don't know what else he ranted on about because I hang up, texting Cynthia I had to go. At the same time I get a text from Larry asking me to confirm. I text back confirmation and he responds with relief, as he's already committed to hauling something back to Pharr.

I get nervous then, as I forget exactly the name of the company he's with. I try calling him and it goes to voice mail. I look up what I think is the company online and can't really find much information. Then I google his phone number and I find he and his dad have the same name and several businesses in Pharr. I feel much better.

I call one of those businesses and ask for him. The young man who answers says he's not there but he will call me soon. And he does! He apologizes for not calling me sooner, as he was running around getting ready for the 1152 mile trip he's about to take.

Two days! And I'll get my baby back! I decide to have her towed straight to the mechanics here in Atlanta instead of my daughter's back yard. Who knows what life will be like after c.v.? I want her in running condition.

Larry tells me he plans on getting an oil change and checking the tires, etc., then he'll go by the dealer this afternoon and pick her up! He intends to leave around 4a.m. tomorrow and be here Thursday late afternoon! YEAH!!!!
