Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Yalui Village!

Sooooooo happy to be back at Yalui Village – not just because there’s only a couple people here so my presence is needed – but because it is calm and beautiful and WARM. The sunset is as inspiring as always and the fire healing and warm.
I look forward to getting to know the other folks here tomorrow and for checking out the Witness at the Border folks on the Brownsville/Matamoros border.

Toilet paper and surveillance

I’ve spent a miserable couple hours this morning trying to sleep in this tiny car. Normally, I’ve no problem driving until I’m ready to sleep but this car is sooooo very small and uncomfortable. I could have forced myself a few hours ago to drive farther so that I’d be toothpick-under-the-eyelids tired but I didn’t want to take the chance.
When I first rented this car, I thought I had room to curl into a fetal position and sleep but that didn’t work. Putting my feet up on the back of the front seat didn’t work. Nothing worked and I feel like I never slept. This rest stop is big and beautiful – you can count on the bathrooms being pristine and lots of toilet paper – and most likely lots of surveillance.
It's odd being here really incognito without my truck - not just like how I dress to fly. I remember the last time I was here I had a great discussion with the guy behind the counter. Now I have to bundle up, it's still so fuckin cold, so I can't even interact with people responding to my t-shirt messages.
