Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Pro-fetus, anti-womyn day to harass Planned Parenthood

It is a day of rest and camping so two of the youngest white womyn and myself head back into Madison to stand against the pro-fetus, anti-womyn and for womyn's rights and to defend Planned Parenthood, the focus of these anti-womyn protestors.

We find them sprawled along a major 4 lane highway with a large medium in the middle. There are no other womyn standing there in support of Planned Parenthood or womyn's rights, and not a dark face amongst them but way too many women.

We see a sign that has a picture of a bloody fetus and says "your tax dollars at work". I decide to bring my picture of a bloody baby from Iraq with "your tax dollars at work" underneath.

We park behind a church building, pull out paper and paint and get to work making more signs. Then we walk past these people chanting "my body, my rights" as we proceed to the medium and stand there, claiming every car honk for us!

Our signs range from "Against Abortion? Get a Vasectomy" and "We Support Planned Parenthood" and of course "Keep Your Laws Off My Body". And of course, your tax dollars, that I make sure faces their line-up.

A young womon approaches and claims we are on the same side, as she agrees with almost everything painted on my truck. I offer her my glasses asking her if she can't see that I trust womyn and fight for our access to quality health care while she wants to legislate her beliefs and deny womyn the laudable and life-saving services that Planned Parenthood provides.

The news arrives and all three of us get to speak but we'll be on the road, heading back to our camp when it's broadcasted.
