Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Pretend it's just a regular diesel...

Morning of third day and still no word from Rush. I didn't dare call yesterday, April 1st, so I call this morning. Oh, I did email Rush headquarters yesterday, on the advice of my daughter, explaining the situation and asking for their help. But I haven't heard from them either.

When the service desk answers and I ask for the manager first I'm told he's busy but I'll wait. Fred gets on the line and tells me he is not allowed to talk with me. I demand to know if he's the same Fred that I talked with Monday eve and Tuesday morning who said he was going to call me and update me.

Fred tells me I have to speak with his boss, the union coordinator. When that guy gets on the line he tells me that because of the veg oil configuration, his men can't/won't work on my truck. I reiterate I don't want them to do whatever with the veg oil - just pretend it's not there.

He goes into this long explanation, in a nutshell, he's worried that they won't be able to find the problem and then I'll be out lots of money. Really?  I ask if they cannot do things like put the computer on the engine to diagnose the problem, drain the tank, flush the lines, replace the filters, locate blockage or air leak.

He's like that's what you want me to do? I'm there like I'm not a mechanic but I would imagine those are some of the troubleshooting steps that might fix it. He asks if I want an estimate. Of course I do.

Then I ask him to pretend there's no veggie oil conversion on my truck. Pretend this is another diesel NPR box truck with not painting, just the stalling issues my truck has, how would they proceed?

He's stumped. He can't tell me.

I have called a few other places but no one will work on my truck: either they've mechanics out do to c.v., or they don't work on Isuzu diesels, or they just don't bother calling me back and letting me know.

I'm thinking I'm going to have her towed to Atlanta if I can find someone to do it and if it doesn't cost so much money. If that doesn't work I'll have to see how long Rush is willing to let her stay there as I think about how long I'm willing to let her stay there.

Worst case I'll have to fly back, pick up my Radical Ride Baby, and drive to Yalui Village for the duration. And hope Myra and/or Mike will be willing to take me shopping every once in awhile.
