Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Missifuckinssippi

Missifuckinssippi! I’ve stayed at this Welcome Center before. The parking lot is small with not much room between cars and the truckers, which I do not like as the truckers tend to run their engines constantly.

But I spend an uneventful couple of hours, sleeping deeply, then hit the road again. It is actually quite pretty, driving through Mississippi - at least this stretch of the land: heavily forested, very green, and not very many crazies trying to run me off the road.

I stop at another huge rest stop, this time the welcome center for Alabama. It is late in the afternoon & I don't feel like driving more.

I want to finish my books - both my Patricia Cornwell and my Plaque of Doves books. No one speaks to me as I hang out at the picnic area, reading as I walk around, stretching, exercising and either listening to my headphones or turning pages.

After the sun sets, I head toward Birmingham and stop at a rest stop closest to the city so I can rise early, drop off Susie's stuff, and head to the woods!
