Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Journey For Justice Day 2: December 2nd 2022

Brownsville Texas

Marina and I hang out at Netti and George's home all morning after a wonderful breakfast, talking and laughing and sharing stories of our lives. We don't want to leave and try to talk at least Netti into joining the caravan! She probably would but her husband is not spontaneous, she says. She is an immigrant from Costa Rica and shares many stories of growing up the simple, active life of living in harmony with nature and community - which she misses - although they have a beautiful backyard with chickens, dogs, fruit and nut trees, a small organic garden, several composts, and a river flowing slowly down to the ocean across the back boundary of her property.

We leave for downtown Brownsville - about 2 miles away - for the first gathering of the Journey For Justice caravan folks and the community activists who are there to meet and greet and see us off.

Tomorrow we will either cross the bridge into Matamoros or hang at the greyhound bus station to greet newly released refugees and offer them food and care packages while they wait for a bus to take them to their next destination.

Again, I head to the library to try to blog but don't make it there on time to make it to the pizza place to meet the other caravaners...
