Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

"An" Isuzu or "my" Isuzu...

Unfuckinbelievable! After verifying my truck made it to Rush yesterday morning and being told they will call me, I waited all day for that call that never came.

So I called Rush and attempted to speak with the same service person I'd been dealing with. Instead I was turned over to the manager who informed me that they suddenly couldn't work on my truck.

I'm livid and panicked - are they so bigoted? This happened to me a couple times during the early years after we invaded Afghanistan and Iraq, but hasn't happened so blatantly in a long time.

Why? I ask him. He starts droning on about the tampering someone did to the truck. I realize he is talking about the veggie oil system. I patiently explain to him that I do NOT want him to touch the veggie oil system, that this is a repair to the diesel system.

He is not convinced and reiterates that there is not a mechanic in the shop who can work on an Isuzu. Now I'm REALLY livid. "An" Isuzu or "my" Isuzu????

I informed him I called ahead of time, even gave the service rep my vin number. He put me on hold to verify that they could fix it and came back and gave me the green light go ahead.

The manager tells me again Rush is not equipped to work on my truck, even after I inform him that I've been taking her to Rush centers around the country, in fact, I just had her serviced at Rush in California in January when I left to drive to Texas.

He tells me I need to take her to the Isuzu dealer - like there's an Isuzu dealer in town and I just missed finding it. He tells me there's one right across the street. He's referring to a mercedes dealership that I had called and emailed last week and they never got back to me. I grill him on how well he knows them and their competence, as well as how sure he is they'll work on her - they're a dealership with a shop but not a truck center....grrrrr

When I protest further, explaining again I'm in Atlanta and had arranged towing by phone to his place with the knowledge and approval of a service rep, he assures me that he will make sure they know my truck is coming over and he will arrange for my truck to be towed there.

Okay, I want my truck fixed, don't really care who fixes it - can a mercedes place be any worse than a trucker place???
