Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

tell the guy....

pulling into a huge parking lot, i hop outta the truck, head to the back to replenish my food and water supply. heading back to the front door, i notice a large pick-up truck make a turn into the parking lot and stop at the back - i head back there but he takes off. another truck takes it's place.
i meet gracie - she reads everything written on the back, and then moves her eyes to the side, continuing to read. we smile & i ask her if she's heard of codepink.
as we talk, a large white van filled with white men drive around us in a squeaky circle - the driver, an older white man w/a receding hair line, screams out the window "tell the guy that's driving this truck he's an asshole"!
okay... more later

first stop: chicago

i left my only old womon relative left alive in nyc early this a.m., jumped on the subway, tranfered to the bus, and caught a plane for chicago! in chicago, i walked out the terminal, jumped on yet another train - the orange line to the blue line - tranfered to yet another bus, and was dropped off a block from my truck.

i was relieved to see my big baby, beautiful back facing me as i approached - no slashed tires, no graffiti over my art work - i walked along the 'imprision bush' side finding no surprises - the cab calmly waiting for my return. then i went to glance at the 'codepink women for peace sign' - it had been covered with a huge blue tarp, taped down w/yucky, stickly tape that wouldn't let go as i pulled.

i was pissed - what a side to cover! i pulled the tarp off, tried to remove the tape, headed outta chicago.
