Disappearing in plain site or burkas???

A white UK friend on facebook posted a meme that I will describe here because I don't know how to paste it.

There were three rows of brown womyn in hijabs and eventually burkas, holding baby girls in their laps, with three womyn pairs and girls in each row. 

The top row of womyn were dressed in colorful ‘female gendered’ clothes with colorful hijabs; the second row they were dressed in black burkas and hijabs, with the first two womyn & girls showing most of their faces but the last womon beginning to cover-up across her mouth and nose; the last row the first two are covering almost totally their entire faces, with the last womon and child totally covered up with only a tiny dot of an eye available.

At first, I did not respond to this meme but instead responded to a response from another white womon, also a UK resident, who said something like: “these womyn in burkas were as “bad” as handmaidens in our country.”

I replied to her response with: “NOT as ‘bad’ - as ‘oppressed’ maybe”

She then responded to me with suck a hateful post I lost it. 

Janey said “if western governments don’t get a handle on the rise of Islamic hatred of our cultures this is where many more women will end up.”

And then I saw the racist danger in posting a meme like this in a country where islamphobia and violence against brown and Black muslim people is on the rise. Part of the general racism of white womyn in posting this meme is how convenient and easy it is for westerners to see the disappearing of Black and brown womyn but not the same disappearing of western womyn. I asked where is the post that points out how western womyn not under Islamic rule are being disappeared.

For in the west womyn get disappeared thru makeup, high heels, sexually revealing garments, permed or stratened hair, dresses, ‘feminine’ styles etc etc etc. But it's soooooo much easier 2 look at & point the finger to womyn we've never had a conversation with, let alone a meaningful relationship with.

We get disappeared in plain sight.

This is how I responded to Janey: “Are you fuckin kidding me? How have you swallowed & now dare to repeat such racist garbage, the fuckin 'west' getting a hold of 'Islamic hatred' of our culture - strate from warmongering racist bush's mouth. I'm sickened you would repeat such vile hateful lies. It is & was the rise of western hatred, violence, oppression against & genocide of 'islamists' from the very beginning to justify invading their countries and stealing their resources that has at least contributed if not caused further violence against womyn.

 Janey responded with something like: oh sure, now I’m a wahcist”

I didn’t respond to that last comment but instead I private messaged her to invite her to our zoom:

Not after your childish rant thanks. Also I'm English we don't have the mental take on racism the yanks do. No thanks. 

 ME: We need 2 talk about it Janey, whether ur afraid or annoyed or any other defense mechanism u reach 4 to avoid the conversation let alone analysis IF u want 2 b comadres/companeras/sister warriors in the fight against patriarchy & 4 justice. Of COURSE the english don't hv the 'mental' take - urs were the footsteps then path then total world domination we followed in & then surpassed.

Janey: apologise? so the italians should apologise for when the Romans captured and enslaved millions? same with the Vikings? what about Alexander the Great?

Me: Do u really think racism has ended? U think it's something that happened in ancient times & now justice & equity rules?

Janey: no racism hasnt ended and never will - but also I am not responsible for it - and you cant make me -

Me: Again Janey - ur responding just like a male 2 sexism. ALL men benefit from & r responsible for smashing sexism. Surely u c that. & white men benefit from both racism & sexism.

In the same way ALL white womyn benefit from & r responsible 4 smashing racism.

If only we COULD make men responsible 4 smashing sexism.

Ur right, racism has not ended but it is because u & most white people love our benefits from racism, love being able to say to our Black & brown sistars - & this white womon - "try & MAKE me end racism. I'll NEVER do it." Cause we don't fuckin hv 2.

Then u can continue to not just feel superior to & afraid of brown womyn in burkas & Black womyn with their fists in the air - but u can spread ur ignorance & hatred on facebook & then cower behind ur fuckin white privilege because u r soooooo right Janey: like "making" men responsible for their misogyny, no one can make YOU responsible for your racism.

But trust me, the day u try 2 figure our your white ass part in racism, is the day u begin ur journey toward reclaiming ur humanity & liberating urself from hate & fear.

ME: ur miss-defining me. i'm anti ALL religions, and I am the champion of white womyn coming to grips with our racism so we can form the strongest fiercest force of Black, brown, and white womyn together to create a just world.
