Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Yeahs and fuck u'ses

I was able to drive last night until almost 3:30am  - which is really 4:30am as I've gained an hour to mid-west time. I am forced to park in a gas-subway-convenience store and crackle-barrel type restaurant lot as the rest stop I intended to sleep at was closed...grrrrr

A few other campers, some tractor trailers and several dark passenger cars are parked there so I assume I'm 'okay' too - which means if I get singled out and challenged, I have others to point to! Bathrooms are open all night along with the gas station/convenience store but not the restaurants.

I'm too tired to be nervous - rest stops are my first most comfortable choice - but it would have been dangerous for me to continue driving. Birds and sunlight wake me two hours later, after going to the freezing bathroom and re-entering the already muggy heat of the early morning, I'm hurrying to take off for a few more hours of pleasant driving!

I get my first white boy "fuck you" shoulder, arm and screwed up ugly face out the passenger window as I traverse through beautiful Kentucky. I've always thought if I was forced to live in a land-locked state, Kentucky would be it. Now I'm noticing the negative responses - all from white people of course, shaking their heads, thumbs down, sad bewildered faces tilted beseechingly my way - are increasing with each mile, almost catching up to the positive ones.

Several unexpected and very enthusiastic responses from other white people, both young and old, follow from the cars behind the jabbing middle finger guy.

I suspect they are expressing support and understanding for the "white silence is violence" part although as I get closer to Monsanto domination land, I expect they will be reacting to that too.

Already I see too many acres of gmo corn and soy infiltrating the bright lush summer green rolling hills. And now it is already almost too hot to drive.
