Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Day 2: Nancy, Edwina, and Arizona - to be continued

Nancy has taken up the job of media coordinator and all around promoter of the CodePINK Caravan. She has made an amazing schedule for our few hours traveling thru Tucson, maximizing our visibility and connecting with several diverse activists.

Edwina is getting out the folks to Senator Kyl's office, the soon-to-retire senator sitting on the committee to 'fix' the budget 'crisis' on the federal level.

The caravan arrives at Kyl's office in Phoenix first, before the local cp'ers arrive. It is hot as hell today, 96 degrees, but our caravan activists are pleasant, ready to grab banners and be visible, standing in the hot sun on the busy street corner after driving all morning.

Heading out! to be continued...

Peter wakes us up at 3:15 this morning, as planned. I am so happy someone else is taking responsibility for our time! YEAH!!! And no one gets up grumpy! What a treat!

I LOVE traveling with Kevyn and Peter both - everyone is responsible, pleasant, happy to be on the road meeting and greeting people, spreading the word, and doing our part to make sure we get to D.C. and gather others as we go.

It is after 4:30 by the time we actually leave Carolyn's home. She has made us yummy coffee and wants to make us breakfast but we're anxious to get going.

We don't get far tho, as I need to stop and fix the veggie oil. Yesterday, after 450 miles, I had to switch to biodiesel & I soon figure out why - the little filter is totally clogged. I am so relieved it is not something major but still GRRRRRR

We stop at a rest stop & Kevyn and Peter roll up their sleeves and pitch in, helping me pump the oil from my reserve tank to the main tank, open the cab-over so I can change the filter, the best assistants ever!
