Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Rampant Racism

The overriding view of the mostly white males here is that racism doesn't exist, everyone is equal, we have to be color blind, talking about the issues makes them real & gives them too much weight so we have to ignore them because they don't exists here.

And of course the most blatant racist belief that slavery happened a long time ago and if Black people are in jail it is because they've committed a crime.

The crime of being Black in the u.s.of a.

I can't tell you how many conversations I've tried earnestly to engage in with these mostly young white males. The old men I'm leaving for someone else to address. The attitude of the co-organizers is also we shouldn't waste our time discussing these things - we have real work to do.

I thought half of the 'real work' was to build a New World Order. How the hell can we build anything new if our youth and elders refuse to identify how the Old World Order is playing itself out on the plaza?
