Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Eating out my garden

I harvested and ate some of my new crop of kale tonite! It is such a joy to get up in the morning, go out back and pick arugula - the first veggie ready to harvest, and then to stop along the driveway and munch on raspberries that the neighbor is growing.

This year, besides the regular greens, tomatoes, spinach, cilantro, sugar snap peas, chives, garlic, basil, I am growing soy beans, amaranth, kabocha, and maybe cantaloupe that I believe is just starting to sprout!

After much angst and sadness, I finally cut down the unfruiting avocado tree after almost 15 years of trying to make it fruit. Now my garden is so very happy and taking off!

My poor blueberry bushes has scaley things on it. Shirley tells me to take lite sandpaper and scrape them off.

We all need to grow - ORGANIC! Which does not only mean using no pesticides or chemical fertilizers, it means BEGINNING with ORGANIC seed!

You can NOT grow organic if you don't start with organic seeds!
