Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Mississippi River Keokuk Iowa

This beautiful Iowa morning I'm looking forward to traveling down the state designated byway (how I will find this road without my glasses is yet another challenge), which runs along the Mississippi River from Davenport to Keokuk, my destination for today.

It is the bitter-sweet anticipation fueled by my deep and ancient love for the Mississippi, first triggered in my childhood for my love of rivers and by reading adventure stories of life on and by the Mississippi, but tempered by the knowledge of how thoroughly we've destroyed life in and along this mighty river as well as the purpose for me going to Keokuk.

But there are brave courageous activists there in Keokuk fighting hard to protect the Mississippi from further destruction and contamination - and I want to meet this womyn and men! And to stand on this line to protect the water.
