Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

st louis missouri

i drove/slept/drove/slept all nite to get to st louis this a.m. - i stopped at a truck stop outside st. louis before driving into the city. fox news was on the large screen tv & the headlines said 'london terrorist attack' with the sound off. my radio blew a fuse last nite so i couldn't even get the news.

the young man where i was delivering, asked me if i heard about the terrorist bombing. i said, you mean in iraq? he said, no in london. he told me about the people killed & wounded.

i am enraged & devastated - my heart goes out to those people who were killed - in london, in iraq, in afghanistan, everywhere. i am disgusted w/the news i just read, the reaction of blair & bush - what hypocrits. i am bitter all the people who are getting murdered daily in our world - the brown-skinned, the poor, the women & children - all these people are not getting front page coverage, front page pledges to end this violence & protect all human life.

the young man i talked with was worried about his family, due to visit london in 5 days. i talked about how priviledged we are - most of the world has to face these threats every day, while we keep grabbing more and more and more and wonder why other people aren't content to leave us alone and just spend their time watching their children starve to death.

i got a HUGE fuck you on the highway, heading to whole foods - yes, there's a whole foods in st. louis, and a library that's open with computers. a young white male angrily beeped his horn & stuck his third finger up in the air at me. i responded by blowing my horn continuously & holding the peace sign up to him until he was way outta site. several other cars honked, waved, and gave me the peace sign as he drove by - i hope he saw it.

it is a sad day today - perhaps the saddest thing is that the attack resulting in the killing of english people got front & center news - while the continuing attack & killing of iraqi's, and sudanese, and afghani's, etc., gets barely mentioned. when will we stop killing? when will we care enuff to stop what we're doing & get out in the street & say enuff. love, suzanne
