Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

'we'

Big fat wide white guy, long hair & pony tail, lazily gives me the finger as he plods by my parked truck on his way to pee. He jumps back a little when I spring out of the truck and at least has the dignity to allow red to creep up his substantial neck into his jowls.

He stutters and then recovers a little, claiming he plays ukulele, mandolin & guitar – music of the 60’s. He's now trying to find common ground or distract me from his earlier rudeness. He hadn't intended to be seen, I guess.

The next words spewed out of his mouth are "way back when we were making fun of the government."

I let that pass for a second as I ponder the "we" he is suddenly using then I say, with an emphasis on the 'we': WE weren’t making fun of the government, WE were trying to hold the government accountable.

But that was too big a word for him.

He turns even darker red and conjures up the random excuse he is getting his news off the TV. Remembering his single finger salute, I say, oh come on, u can do better than that, to his retreating back. I think he forgot he was heading toward the bathrooms.
