Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Report back from our Saturday, 6pm gathering "How will white womyn end racism?"

Until I figure out how to post the recording from Saturday's workshop, I will attempt to briefly summarize our dynamic gathering.

We began by introducing ourselves answering the following questions: "What is the most painful/discouraging aspect about reaching your personal antiracism goals?" And "what is the most exciting/rewarding thing about your personal antiracism goals."

Some things we discussed included what actions we can, should, will take as white antiracists; how to choose to be aware of and responsible for addressing racism; how white people get to have a 'choice'; the attitude police and other excuses we have to ignore or discount Black voices.

Among the issues we raised and discussed were the desire to be color-blind, police and the criminal 'justice' system, and the duplicity of claiming to want to eliminate racism while not doing the work to figure out racism.

We touched on a predominant racist hurdle white people throw down as needing to make things 'easy', palatable, comfortable and most of all 'safe' - and we will address this more in depth next time.

We concluded our session with the challenge to try one time this week to reach outside our comfort zones and confront racism.

We will meet next Saturday, same time, same zoom room and I HOPE you will join us! If you can't make Saturday 6pm, then I invite you to join in on Wednesday at noon eastern time.
