Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Remembering those who have the Courage to Resist

"NO MORE MEMORIALS" MEMORIAL DAY!

We had an AWESOME demo today - at least 20 people showed up to the MRS. We tagged shoes with the names of Iraq and U.S. dead, hung them on the gate, and spread them out across the sidewalk.

We hung up the 1000 U.S. soldiers' names on pink slips of fabric; and we made huge "NO MORE MEMORIALS" and "NO MORE WAR" and taped it to the front of the MRS.

In our circle, we introduced ourselves and talked about what brought us out this horrible Memorial Day. We sang, shared our sorrows and our hopes, and spoke of stepping up our actions to END WAR NOW!

Several new folks joined us and many veterans of the war against military recruiting were there too. We chalked the sidewalk, waved to the police who stopped by (about 4 of them), walked through our demo, and left!

TOMORROW, Tuesday, we have street theater from noon-2pm. Any ideas? One suggestion is to continue with the "No More Memorials" theme; or to come as veterans of the war against recruiting!

PLEASE come out tomorrow and help tell recruiters: NO BUSINESS AS USUAL!

The MRS (marine recruiting station) is at 64 Shattuck Square, Berkeley. For more info check the calendar at www.bayareacodepink.org/calendar.htm or call 510-524-2776
