amerikkkan but ...it no longer has to be

Sometimes I think I just can’t stand it. Have we – mostly white people – not learned a damn thing, especially over our last couple decades of life? Are we still so blind, so trapped, so in deep with the amerikkkan nitemare spell even smart, compassionate people keep desperately holding on to the lies, the anti-human acts, the ‘privileges’ that make us believe we are valued and valuable, that we are not and never have been the driving force of violence, terror, destruction of life?

I'm SOOOOOOOO sick of the often indignant huffing "this is not american" or the declaration tinged with miffed authority "this is unamerican". We - mostly white people - MUST challenge & end this outrageous, hurtful (un)conscious distortion of amerikkka, for it is a terrible denial at best, a vicious lie at worst, of what 'amerikkka' is now & has been from the very fuckin beginning.

What we need to be saying is "this is & has always very carefully, very intentionally been 'amerikkka' … but it no longer has to be."

It is up to us. It is so simple: WE, the capitalist-loving/amerikkkan nitemare-embracing humans of this country, must STOP working to make $$$$; we must START working to save lives & life.

Every fuckin thing we've been taught about making $$$ for the things we think we just HAVE to have, is a lie, at best, of our war-mongering, racist, misogynist country; at worst it is the life style that is destroying ALL life on our planet.
