Work 4 Peace,Hold All Life Sacred,Eliminate Violence! I am on my mobile version of the door-to-door, going town-to-town holding readings/gatherings/discussions of my book "But What Can I Do?" This is my often neglected blog mostly about my travels since 9/11 as I engage in dialogue and actions. It is steaming with my opinions, insights, analyses toward that end of holding all life sacred, dismantling the empire and eliminating violence while creating the society we want ALL to thrive in

Journey for Justice Day 1: December 1st

I’m getting ready to leave South Padre Island a few minutes before 11, checkout time, when two womyn approach my camping space to tell me how much they love my truck. Both womyn have been cleaning the bathrooms. Both are brown womyn.

I return their broad smiles and ask them if there’s anything in particular that touches them and both say almost in unison “everything!” We hug, I jump into my truck, and they return to the bathrooms to continue their work.

I go to the Brownsville library to try to get online to blog but for some reason, my computer will not allow me to go to neither facebook nor my blog site. The kid behind the computer info desk is no help at all.

I run out of time and have to head to my hosts who are providing a driveway, plug-in, and access to a full bathroom, thank the goddesses, because xspace has continued to close down the road to the beach – tears - beginning this late afternoon, all day tomorrow, and maybe the next day – who the hell knows.

But I’m soooooo grateful that one of the caravan allies has found this strate couple: the womon, Netti, is an immigrant from Costa Rica and her husband a white guy from Michigan.

Netti is treating me like a special comadre! She wants to make dinner for me, offer me a drink or tea, wants to know if I want to stay in a room inside her beautiful home instead of in my camper. She understands totally when I tell her I prefer to sleep in my camper but I will have a co-pilot who might not be as flexible as I am, getting in and out of the camper. Netti immediately says of course.
